Can you imagine Jesus standing alone with you in the dark, His tortured heart on fire for love of you?
One glance of love from His eyes would be enough to fill our hearts forever. He welcomes us into His heart, a refuge for sinners, and daily offers His unrequited love in the Eucharist.
Jesus is pure love. His human heart is the remedy for our human condition. Even in our best efforts, rarely can we love without mixed motives. When we offer God the good intentions of what we do, it is the Sacred Heart of Jesus that dissolves our tarnished, human intentions. Devotion to the Sacred Heart, because it is inseparable from devotion to the Eucharist, purifies our heart. In Jesus all our marred intentions are made pure.
Can you imagine standing before God in the brightest light, while being perfectly lovable?
